Noted Self Defense Expert Weighs In On Zimmerman

When Mr. Martin jumped Mr. Zimmerman and began to beat him, the night could have only ended with one of them dead or crippled and possibly permanently disabled. The gun saved Zimmerman’s life, and that’s why he carried it. It performed the function for which it was designed, and while all of us who carry weapons hope that we never have to put it to such use, if we are ever faced with that situation we have what we need to reverse that “disparity of force.”

Hey Mike -

How 'bout this: [from Drudge Report]

"The U.S. Department of Justice, overseen by Attorney General Eric Holder, has ordered the Sanford, Florida police department to keep possession of all the evidence from George Zimmerman's second-degree murder trial - including the exonerated neighborhood watch volunteer's gun.

Sanford police confirmed on Thursday that the DOJ asked the agency not to return any pieces of evidence to their owners. Zimmerman was expected to get his firearm back by month's end."

If Zimmerman cannot get his gun back from the Sanford police he sure needs to get one by some other lawful means ASAP. Talk about denying his civil rights!

Note to all IIIpers -

The Buckeye Firearms Association is going to get a new weapon for Zimmerman. We all should make a donation if we can. It is a nice way to get in the face of DOJ!

Having a life long interest in martial arts,I have collected quite a few books on the subject.
One of which examines,in one particular chapter, hand to hand combat techniques designed to kill. Not maim, not to defend oneself,BUT TO KILL.

This book was written by Bradley J. Steiner,a well known figure and preeminent expert in contemporary American martial arts.

The book,"The Death Dealers Manual",has a chapter devoted to empty hand KILLING techniques.

The finishing technique in one sequence is as follows,AND I QUOTE:

"On the ground, smash the targets head viciously and repeatedly on the floor"

This is a military grade empty hand tactic, taught by an expert in such combative techniques as a means to KILL AN ENEMY COMBATANT.

Trayvon Martin COULD HAVE EASILY KILLED ZIMMERMAN WITH THIS TECHNIQUE.

It would take an absolute idiot to assert that a 6 foot tall, athletic young man who gained the upper hand by "jumping" (AMBUSHING!) a smaller man,and who followed up by SMASHING HIS HEAD VICIOUSLY AND REPEATEDLY ON PAVEMENT was not posing AN IMMEDIATE AND LIFE ENDANGERING THREAT to the victim.

George Zimmerman was defending his life.

But, But that innocent "young child" wasn't "ARMED". Yep, he might not have been carrying a knife or a gun but the MMA Combat Fighting meant that he was DEFINITELY ARMED with INTENT TO KILL. I would have shot him too if I had been where Mr. Zimmerman was. I NEVER leave my home without my CCDW & my loaded .38 Special. Maybe I need to start carrying a bigger gun, and extra ammo in case I run into a street gang who intend on killing someone who is of a lighter complexion. Note, Gangsta's BEWARE.

It is relatively easy for a seventeen year old to punch an adult and knock him to the ground with sufficient force to cause brain damage and eventual death, even when that adult is a USMC combat veteran and police officer:

Where is the DOJ on this one?

Cue the crickets.
