Dead Elephant Party Follies in Pennsylvania.

A death by suicide.
The challenge Pennsylvania conservatives will face after Governor Corbett’s likely loss is how to deal with an anti-reform legislature that is apt to remain under GOP control thanks to creative gerrymandering. In the past, too many conservatives have cut them slack and allowed the party to retain quiet insider control in Harrisburg. But Corbett’s loss would be a wake-up call that the status quo is dragging Pennsylvania’s economy down and alienating the Republican party’s base.

While Corbett has clearly been a disappointment, Wolf would be a unmitigated disaster.

I hope the message resonated with the political hacks in the various state legislatures that 'we the people' are pissed off about a lot of things including race baiting, corruption, welfare in all it's forms, crime and incompetence. A stay at home wife and mother of two could shape this country up in a about 2 days.

Doesn't really matter who is the governor as long as the current legislature remains. PA is the last friendly gun state in the northeast and likely to stay that way even with a Dem as Governor. Rendell had two terms and was as anti gun as they come and got nowhere with gun control. Even the Amish hunt.

Corbett raised taxes, and his competition has already stated he will raise taxes. Corrupt government is a way of life. PA puts more ex politicians in jail than anyone else. Two ex house speakers actually shared a jail cell, one from each party, and an ex sitting supreme court justice was sent to jail. Now I hear they are after the current AG.

Tank God we are not NY, or New Jersey, or Maryland. Yet.

too many Rs marketing themselves as Democrat-lite and then bitching and whining when the Tea Party and Libertarian voters say "no thanks".

I'm from western PA. I live in one of the three blue counties in the state. The problem here are the leftist who occupy these three most liberal counties. And Philly is the tipping point for most elections as it has the largest population.

Wolf is just another Marxist in political clothing. He's already come out against the 2nd Amendment. And he's a stooge right of of Fast Eddie's former administration.

I have no love for Corbett. But fuck Wolf....he's only deserving of a hemp necktie.

And then there's the governor's race in Florida. Former Governor Charlie Crist, a Republican, then an Independent, now a Democrat is fully comfortable in either party's "moderate" wing and much like Theramenese (AKA Kothornos, a shoe that could be worn on either foot) in the Peloponnesian War, made a name for himself by making a firm stand in whatever direction the wind was blowing. Current Governor Scott can be seen in his old trial testimony claiming amnesia so many times you will lose count. If either one or both of them were on fire I wouldn't piss on them.

Mandate of heaven indeed!
