Law enforcement ‘desperately’ trying to hide use of surveillance cell towers

Law enforcement organizations around the country are desperate to keep the public unaware of the use of Stringrays, a surveillance technology that secretly monitors cell phones, even as courts and lawmakers are starting to fight back.

This is a good example of why every penny of taxpayer based budgets have to be online and totally open to taxpayer inspection.

When we taxpayers can follow the money, the bastards can't pull these shehanigans.

Seems to me it would be handy to be able to identify a "Stingray" in a haystack of carrier's ordinary cell towers and then in some fashion jam the former at will.

Any "Phone Phreaks" out there in III% land?
