And we Southern folks would like to thank all you northern collectivists from the bottom of our hearts.

Voting with your feet is great as long as the feet voters, don't try to import, "well back home we did it like XXX". My response has always been, if it was so damn great allow me to assist you to the state line for your return. You left for a reason, you moved here for a reason, either conform or move out of this state, need help of gas money to the state line??

The migration to Free States shouldn't be a problem, as long as the "migrants" leave their progressive socialist ideology behind and embrace and assimilate to where they move. My former neighbors were wealthy liberal Democrats that owned their horse farm property outright. The husband's family has been active in Democrat politics for decades. They got invited to both of Obummer's inaugurations. After helping destroy the once great state of CT, they bought property in South Carolina, built an entire new horse farm, and sold what they had here. The reason.....they could not afford to live the lifestyle they wanted here because IT'S TOO EXPENSIVE! WTF did they expect? Just look at the mess they and their ilk have wreaked upon the rest of us! I pity the state of South Carolina, and any Free State where these type of people move to. Southern hospitality will be it's own downfall, because they will be welcomed into the communities with the poison they bring.

On the other hand, I did end up with much better neighbors. Instead of high strung show horses that freaked out when we were shooting (even though they originally told us it would be OK) we have a farm full of retired Amish plow horses that are like giant dogs. We were told to stay away from the show horses, and these neighbors like having us come over and spend time with their animals. For safety, we warn them when we are going to shoot, in case they plan on trail riding. Yesterday I texted the girl to give her the all clear when we were done, and she told me the horses napped while we shot. We also get together socially, which is something that never occurred with the original owners. I can't say I miss the old neighbors at all.

The 2014 data suggests that people are now moving into the San Francisco Bay Area (9 or so counties) at a good clip. This appears to be accelerating, based on housing prices.
Economy is hot here.
Americans are very mobile,in general.

The only problem with Northern collectivists moving to more freedom climates, is that the collectivists tend to bring their collectivism with them. They very thing that made their past home a statist cesshole, the very thing that they are fleeing, they bring that same mentality with them to their new home, and start the statist cesshole cycle again.

"This is how we used to do it at my old home. I wanna do it again here.
Like leeches, fleas, and other parasitic vermin, they flee the old rotting corpse, and infect their new home with the same disease, hence insuring its demise as well.

I suspect that we will be adding my family to these stats in the next couple of years. Ohio it seems, wants to become the midwest's northeast, or if possible, a new Massachusetts.

When you drive over a bridge into West by God, you can feel the difference but that may also be in decline in that state. So maybe further south.... Probably further south.

Thank them for what? Making your taxes go up to build new schools for their feral offspring? Bringing their drug addled children (& selves) to your neighborhood? Spreading their "progressive" politics to your local & state govts? Worse than locusts they are escaping the hellholes they've created, but bringing the blight along with them. Wondering why they dont fix where they live rather than spreading the plague. Parts of Colorado, Virginia, & NE Pennsylvania are perfect examples of this. Coming soon to a location near you.

Hopefully it's those of us who are like minded escaping.....you know, like hopping the Berlin Wall...

I am from NJ, lived there my whole life. I am looking to move to TN next summer. I think the majority of the people fleeing are ones who value freedom. I hope so anyway- but I wouldn't be surprised to get sh*t for being from NJ until people knew me. I don't blame them. NJ sux. Full of NYers.

I'm from NJ too. Everything here sucks, especially when compared to the stare 30 years ago. When grandma goes to meet her maker and the man-child is ready the world, I'm gone. There's nothing here any longer that resembles freedom or individual rights - that's why native New Jersians like you & I are fleeing whilst the Trenton collectivists fill the void with illegal aliens.

Most of the comments can be summarized by the old bumper sticker "We Don't Care How Y'all Did It Up North". 'nuff said.

The problem is that these people are importing a lot of the garbage beliefs that turned their lib homes into sewers. Look at Colorado for what might be in store for us if the trend were to continue.

Of course, the folks heading to the South *are* Northern collectivists. As the electoral map of the North goes ultraviolet, the South goes purple.

Every where we go
People want to know
Who we are
So we tell them ....
WTF? I don't know who I am!

People! Don't go searching for a better world. Everyone everywhere has problems.
Stay where you are and help make changes for a better New Jersey.

If you leave, you only leave the bad guys in charge.
That's what they want.

Funny so many commenters mention the "way we do it back...". Believe it or not, right here in upstate NY we've heard that same crap from transplanted NYC jerks. Upstate counties here tend to be rural and have a large conservative/libertarian base. Then came the housing boom in the early 2000's and hordes of city people escaping what they saw as a terrorist target after 9/11. Problem was - they didn't want to be "country folk". They wanted to retain there NYC pseudo tough-guy and all-knowing liberal images. And people up here basically said the same as many southerners are now saying - "we don't care how you did it where you're from". And these "city-ots" never argue about school tax increases (or any tax increases) because they're used to insane taxes and think they're kids are getting a good education (really indoctrination) just because they're now out of NYC. So now the people up here are forced into moving elsewhere in the country to escape these clowns. The bottom line is, if your southern or western state gets folks from more rural areas of a Blue state you'll probably be OK. But if those transplants come from a city, and are unrepentant Dem/Libtards, then hold on to your hat because those folks can screw up a wet dream.
